FreeWebGuy builds websites for car detailers: $0 to build and $15 a month for hosting once you approve the site. What a car detailing website has to do

  1. Give a price for the car they actually drive

Nobody shopping for a detail wants a sedan number when they own a three-row SUV. The site lets a visitor pick their size and watch each package reprice, with what is in it and how long it takes next to the number. Someone who already knows the price calls to book, not to ask.

  2. Answer the mobile questions before they ask

Do you bring water and power, how much room do you need, does the owner have to stay. People put off booking until they know, and few of them will call to ask. One section that settles all of that, apartment lots included, gets the request sent.

  3. Take a request at 9 pm with the details you need

The form asks for the vehicle, its size, the package, the address and a day that works, so your reply is a start time rather than a round of questions. Keep it a request you confirm by text, so the day's route and the weather stay your call, not the software's.

The pages we build for a detailing business

Your brief decides the final list. These are the pages most car detailers need, and the job each one does.

Page Why it is there
Home Your strongest package priced for each size, how a visit works and a request button, before the first scroll.
Packages and add-ons Exterior, interior and full detail with what each includes, how long it takes and a price per size.

Service area The neighborhoods and towns you drive to, in text, and where a travel fee starts.
Ceramic coating and paint correction What a coating does and does not do, the prep that comes first, upkeep and starting prices.

  1. A size toggle that reprices every package

The visitor taps sedan, small SUV or truck, and the price, the time estimate and the request link on each package change together. The other two prices stay in a line underneath.

  2. A mobile visit explained in three parts

Water and power, a spot to work, and the owner at the start and the end. Each part says what the detailer brings and what the customer provides, then a short list for the morning of the visit.

  3. A service-area ring map with the neighborhoods written out

Three rings show where the van goes and where a travel fee starts, with each ring's neighborhoods listed in text beside it, so a visitor finds their part of town and a search engine can read every name.

What to have ready for your brief

The brief takes about 3 minutes. Send what you have now; photos, documents and anything else on this list can follow by email.

  • Your packages, what each one includes and roughly how long each takes
  • Prices for each package by vehicle size, your add-ons, and what gets priced only after seeing the car
  • Whether you bring water and power or use the customer's, and how you handle apartment and office lots
  • The neighborhoods or ZIP codes you cover and any travel fee past them
  • Your deposit, cancellation and rain policies, in your own words
  • The insurance you carry, such as general liability and garagekeepers, if you carry it
  • Before-and-after photos of your own work on customer cars

What customers check before they call

  • Prices by vehicle size on the page, since a detailer who posts them is unlikely to reprice in the driveway
  • Garagekeepers coverage named if you carry it, since general liability alone often excludes the customer's car
  • Before-and-after photos that are clearly yours, with your own van or driveway in them
  • What you need from them stated up front, so no booking fails over a missing outlet
  • Coating claims that match the maker's rating, with no lifetime or scratch-proof promises

Prefer to build it yourself?

Building your own car detailing website works if you have the evenings for it. These five steps cover what the site needs on any website builder.

  1. Choose a builder whose form can ask for the vehicle, a size, a package and an address, not just a name and a message.

  2. Write each package as what is included, how long it takes and a price per size, with a line on what gets priced at the walk-around.

  3. Add one section on water, power, space and whether the owner stays, plus what to take out of the car.

  4. List your service area in text, your travel fee if you charge one, and the insurance you carry.

  5. Put the site on your Google Business Profile, then send yourself a request from a phone and check every field arrived.

Questions car detailers ask

Something else on your mind? Email hello@freewebguy.com. We reply within one business day.

How much does a car detailing website cost?

A car detailing website from FreeWebGuy is $0 to build. Hosting is $15 a month once you approve the site, so year one comes to $180 plus a domain if you need one, with no setup fee and no contract. The size toggle, mobile-visit section and request form are included.

How should a detailing website show prices by vehicle size?

With a size switch rather than a grid. The visitor picks sedan, SUV or truck once and every package shows the price for that size, with a line on what moves the number, such as pet hair or heavy stains. Call them starting prices and confirm the figure at the walk-around.

What should a mobile detailing website say about water and power?

Exactly what you do. If the van carries a tank and a generator, say so. If you need the customer's spigot and outlet, say how far from the car they can be. Add how you handle apartment and office lots, where there is often no spigot and a property manager to ask.

How should a detailing website handle deposits and no-shows?

State the policy plainly on the packages page and again above the request form. A common pattern is no deposit on a wash, a small one on a full detail and a larger one on polish and coating days, with a cancellation window of a day or two. Said before the request, the policy holds without an argument.

What can a detailing website claim about ceramic coating?

What the coating maker rates it for, on a car washed the way they specify, and nothing more. List what a coating will not do too, such as stop rock chips or hide swirl marks; buyers who have read big promises elsewhere notice. Name a brand certification only if you hold it.

Should a detailing website mention garagekeepers insurance?

Yes, if you carry it. Garagekeepers covers the customer's car while it is in your care, which general liability often leaves out. Property managers at apartments and offices may ask for a certificate, so say you can provide one. Do not write "fully insured" without the policies behind it.

Should a mobile detailer put a home address on the website?

No. List the part of town the van starts from and "by appointment" where an address would go. Google Business Profile's service-area setting hides the address; the site should match it. Customers want to know you will come to them, not where the van sleeps.
