How does UENI work?
UENI builds the website for you: you fill in a questionnaire, its team builds the site, and UENI says the site launches in 7 days. Its own page calls UENI 'a service, not a DIY website builder.' On that point UENI and FreeWebGuy are the same kind of service.
The Website Launch plan includes a custom-designed site, a custom domain with SSL, one professional email address, hosting, a mobile-ready and SEO-ready build and 30 days of done-for-you edits. UENI's page also carries its own scale claims, including that more than 700,000 business owners have used it; we repeat that as UENI's statement, not as something we have checked.
FreeWebGuy works from a brief that takes about 3 minutes instead of a questionnaire. We build the full site, a person checks it, and you receive a private preview within 48 hours of your brief. You approve it before paying. The steps are on how it works.
How much does UENI cost in the first year?
UENI costs $378.88 in the first year on Website Launch billed monthly: a $79 setup fee plus 12 payments of $24.99. On the yearly plan it is $328.90, the setup fee plus $249.90 for the year. The two-year plan is $79 plus $449.82 for 24 months. On October 14, 2026 the setup fee was shown as a promotion against a $599 list price.
Plus, the next tier, is $59 a month or $49.17 billed yearly, plus the same setup fee, and it is the plan that carries unlimited done-for-you edits. Ecommerce and Growth sit above it at $99 and $124.99 a month.
FreeWebGuy costs $180 in the first year: $0 to build and 12 months at $15 once you approve the preview. Add about $10 to $25 for a domain if you do not already own one, paid to the registrar in your name. UENI includes the domain in its plan, so if you need a new one, take $10 to $25 off the $199 first-year gap.
How fast is each one?
UENI says 7 days to launch. FreeWebGuy sends the first version within 48 hours of your brief, and bigger sites, or briefs missing key details, take a few days more. The gap is smaller than it looks, because the first version is not the launch: you still review it, request changes and approve it, and that part runs at your pace.
The 48-hour first version matters most for the decision itself: 2 days after you send the brief, you are looking at your own site, with nothing paid. Reasonable revisions before launch are included, and we revise the preview with you until it matches your brief.
What happens after launch?
On UENI, the Launch plan includes 30 days of edits made by its team; after that, edits on Launch are not described on the pricing page, and the Plus plan at $59 a month is the one with unlimited done-for-you edits. One professional email address comes with Launch and four with Plus.
On FreeWebGuy, you make edits yourself in your site's AI builder, and the platform's 24/7 chat support helps when you get stuck. Email hello@freewebguy.com about your design and we reply within one business day. New pages, a redesign or a large catalog after launch are quoted and approved before any work starts. The $15 plan covers hosting and the site; it does not include a mailbox.
If you want a team to keep making every change for you indefinitely, that is a point for UENI Plus, at its price. If you are happy to type a new price into your own page, that is a point for the $15.
Does UENI offer a refund, and what does FreeWebGuy do instead?
UENI offers a 30-day money-back guarantee; its page says to email its customer success team for a full refund. It covers the $79 setup fee and the first month.
FreeWebGuy has no refund window because nothing is charged until you approve the site. We build the full site and send you a private preview. You read every page, tell us what to change, and decide. Hosting at $15 a month starts only when you approve the site and set up your SMBcrm plan, and after that it is month to month: cancel the $15 plan any month in your SMBcrm account, with no cancellation fee from FreeWebGuy.
The two protect you at different moments. UENI lets you undo a purchase for 30 days. FreeWebGuy puts the purchase after the inspection.
What do the two prices leave out?
UENI's price leaves out anything beyond the included edits on Launch and any add-on sold separately; its pricing page does not address what happens to the site or the domain if you leave, so ask before you sign up.
FreeWebGuy's price leaves out the domain, which you buy from the registrar in your name, payment-processing fees if you sell online, usage-based text, email and AI charges if you turn those features on, and any new pages or redesign after launch, which are quoted first. Optional SMBcrm plans from $97 a month add CRM, email marketing, automation and a built-in booking calendar.
Your site runs on SMBcrm hosting, and the design and platform are licensed to you while the plan is active. If you cancel, the site goes offline. Your domain, logo, photos and text stay yours, and we can help you gather them if you ask. The team behind FreeWebGuy has built 1,000+ websites.
