How does Hostinger renewal pricing work?
Hostinger's $2.99 a month is the price you get by paying $143.52 up front for 48 months of its Premium builder plan; when those four years end, the plan renews at $10.99 a month. The page says it in two lines: 'Get 48 months for $143.52 (regular price $575.52)' and 'Renews at $10.99/mo.'
The same pattern runs through the other plans. Unlimited is $3.99 a month, $191.52 up front, renewing at $16.99. Cloud Startup is $7.99 a month, $383.52 up front, renewing at $25.99. On each plan the renewal rate is more than three times the headline rate.
None of this is hidden; it is on the page, in smaller type under the big number. Read it as a $143.52 purchase that lasts four years, followed by a $131.88-a-year subscription, rather than as a $2.99-a-month service.
FreeWebGuy has no introductory term. The $15 a month you pay after approving the site is the same $15 in month 2, month 13 and month 49. That is more cash than Hostinger in every one of those years; the figures, and what you get for them, are below.
How much does Hostinger cost in total?
Hostinger costs $143.52 for the first four years on Premium, then $131.88 a year, so eight years come to $671.04. On Unlimited the figures are $191.52 and then $203.88 a year. Add a domain after its free first year at whatever Hostinger charges to renew it.
The page we read on October 14, 2026 showed the 48-month term only. Hostinger says all plans are paid up front, so if you want a shorter commitment, check the price at checkout; it was not on the page. A 14-day free trial of the builder and a 30-day money-back guarantee take some of the sting out of a four-year decision.
FreeWebGuy costs $180 a year and $720 over the same four years, plus a domain at about $10 to $25 a year from the registrar. The pricing page lists what the $15 includes and what costs extra.
Who builds the site on Hostinger?
You do. Hostinger supplies the builder, the templates, its AI tools and the hosting; you supply the structure, the writing, the photos, the mobile check and every update after launch. For an owner who is comfortable in a page editor and has a free weekend, that is a fair trade at the price.
FreeWebGuy supplies the finished site. The brief takes about 3 minutes, we build the first version within 48 hours of it, and a person checks it before you see it. Bigger sites, or briefs missing key details, take a few days more. You review the preview, ask for changes, and approve it before paying anything.
If you want to compare the two on your hours as well as your cash, the website cost calculator lets you enter the hours a DIY build would take you and what an hour of your time is worth. It does not guess either number for you.
Which costs less over four years, Hostinger or FreeWebGuy?
Hostinger, by a wide margin, for anyone who builds and maintains the site themselves. Four years of FreeWebGuy hosting is $720; four years of Hostinger Premium is $143.52. Even after the prepaid term, Hostinger at $131.88 a year is $48 a year less than FreeWebGuy at $180.
That is the comparison to make if you were going to build the site either way. If you were not, the $576.48 difference over four years is the price of having it built, checked, revised with you and kept simple to edit afterward, which is a different purchase.
If you will do the work, Hostinger is the lower bill, and we would rather you choose it knowing that than choose us by mistake.
What does $15 a month buy that $2.99 does not?
The $15 buys the build. A site designed and written from your brief, with the pages a business like yours needs, a layout built for phones first, SEO basics such as page titles and descriptions, a contact or request form that emails you, your domain connected, hosting with SSL, the AI builder for your own edits and the platform's 24/7 chat support.
It also buys the check. We use AI to build fast, and a person reads every first version against your brief before it reaches you. Reasonable revisions before launch are included; we revise the preview with you until it matches what you asked for. If you have no photos or logo yet, say so in the brief.
Then there is the order of events. Nothing is charged until you have seen the finished site and approved it. The team behind FreeWebGuy has built 1,000+ websites; the website examples show the kind of site the $15 pays for.
Do you have to prepay four years with Hostinger?
The builder page shows one term, 48 months, and states that all plans are paid up front, so the $2.99 price requires the four-year payment. Whether a shorter term is offered at checkout, and at what price, was not on the page we read on October 14, 2026, so we do not quote one. Hostinger's 30-day money-back guarantee applies if you change your mind early.
FreeWebGuy has no term. You pay $15 for the month ahead, and you can cancel the plan any month in your SMBcrm account. FreeWebGuy charges no cancellation fee. If you cancel, the site goes offline; your domain, logo, photos and text stay yours, and we can help you gather them if you ask. SMBcrm keeps account data for about 30 days after a plan ends.
