Changes this week: none posted. If a stop moves, its day gets a “Moved” tag and the new spot. Where changes show up

The first question at the window

Red or green?

Almost everything on the truck comes with chile, and you pick which one. Heat changes from batch to batch, so ask for a taste in a cup before you order. We don’t mind.

  • Red

Dried pods, ground and simmered into a smooth sauce. Earthy, a little sweet, and the heat builds slowly.

    Heat: medium

  • Green

Roasted, peeled and chopped. Smoky and bright, and on most days the hotter of the two.

    Heat: medium-hot

  • Christmas

Half red, half green on the same plate. Say “Christmas” at the window.

What most people order

Short-notice changes

When a stop changes, it changes here first.

Wind, a flat tire or a last-minute booking can move a stop. When that happens we tell people in this order, before the truck leaves the commissary in the morning.

  1. The board above

The day gets a “Moved” tag with the new spot and hours. If we have to close early, the hours change on the board before anywhere else.

Wind rule: when gusts over 40 mph are forecast, we stay in and post it by 6 a.m.

  2. The truck line

Call (505) 555-0137. We re-record the voicemail greeting every morning, so it always says where we are that day.

We post on our social pages too, but they get the news after this page does.

  3. Text alerts

One text when a stop moves, closes early or sells out. Nothing else.

Reply STOP to any text and you’re off the list.

Asked at the window

Paying, and the paperwork

Before they order, people tend to ask two things: do you take cards, and is the truck permitted? Both answers are here. The documents themselves hang by the service window, and we’ll show you any of them.

We take
  • Cash
  • Any major card
  • Tap-to-pay

No minimum on cards. Menu prices include tax, so the price on the board is what you pay.

Health permit
Mobile food unit permit from the City of Albuquerque Environmental Health Department. It renews every year and is posted by the window.
Fire inspection
Current certificate, posted beside the health permit.
Commissary
We prep and store food at a permitted commissary kitchen and check in there every day we serve.
Training
A cook with a food manager certification works every shift. Everyone at the window carries a food handler card.
For venues
A copy of the permit and a certificate of insurance, sent ahead of your event when your venue asks.

Catering and private events

Bring the truck to your crew.

Office lunches, school fundraisers and backyard parties, from about 40 guests up. For early meetings, we can skip the truck and drop off foil-wrapped burritos labeled red, green or Christmas.

Sundays and Friday nights book first.
